The Magazine ANTIQUES, celebrating more than 100 years as the leading American journal of historical art and design scholarship, seeks a part-time Digital Media and Editorial Assistant to join our staff.
The position entails responsibilities on both our digital and print media platforms, and the ideal candidate will have technical skills as well as a familiarity with journalistic best practices.
The Digital Media and Editorial Assistant works primarily under the direction of the Digital Manager and Research Associate. Specific duties include attending to website and social media feed scheduling, fact-checking social media posts, and monitoring email inquiries from readers.
The ideal candidate will have experience in video and audio production, and will assist the Digital Media Producer in the making of our podcast, Curious Objects, and episodes of our YouTube video series TMAexplains.
Candidates must have excellent written communication skills, and be able to proofread articles on deadline for comprehension and grammar. Short-form writing opportunities will be available to those wishing to build a portfolio of bylined articles.
The position entails 20-30 hours per week, working on a set schedule to be determined with flexibility. No benefits are associated with this part-time position.
This is a remote position, but note that the workday schedule follows Eastern Standard Time.
